Kindergarten Requirements:
- Completed Elementary Pathway Awards Application due by October 1st to building sponsor
- Demonstrated age-appropriate proficiency in English literacy determined by meeting or nearing grade-level expectations (Native English Speakers) or demonstrated progress toward proficiency in English literacy determined by ACCESS test results (English Language Learners).
- Completed monthly reading/activity log illustrating use/study of a language other than English in the home or community (minimum 15 minutes per week).
3rd Grade Requirements:
- Completed Elementary Pathway Awards Application due by October 1st to building sponsor
- Demonstrated age-appropriate proficiency in English literacy determined by meeting or nearing grade-level expectations (Native English Speakers) or demonstrated progress toward proficiency in English literacy determined by ACCESS test results (English Language Learners).
- Completed monthly reading/activity log illustrating use/study of a language other than English in the home or community (minimum 30 minutes per week).
6th Grade Requirements:
- Completed Elementary Pathway Awards Application due by October 1st to building sponsor
- Demonstrated age-appropriate proficiency in English literacy determined by meeting or nearing grade-level expectations (Native English Speakers) or demonstrated progress toward proficiency in English literacy determined by ACCESS test results (English Language Learners).
- Completed monthly reading/activity log illustrating use/study of a language other than English in the home or community (minimum 45 minutes per week).
- Created a Multimedia presentation due the last Monday of April in which students:
- Described and related their school/community service experiences
- Reflected on the importance and benefits of bilingualism
8th Grade Requirements:
- Completed 8th Grade Pathway Awards Application (paper version or online) due by October 1st to building sponsor
- Demonstrated proficiency in English literacy by achieving a grade B- or higher in English Language Arts (Native English Speakers) or demonstrated progress toward proficiency in English literacy determined by ACCESS test results (English Language Learners).
- Demonstrated progress toward proficiency in a Language other than English determined by a grade of B- or higher in a Modern Language course or completed monthly reading/activity log illustrating use/study of a language other than English in the home or community (minimum 60 minutes per week).
- Submitted one-page essay in which students:
- Described and related school/community service experiences
- Reflected on the importance and benefits of bilingualism
